Audience: client administrators. Applies to: events linked to a Salesforce campaign.
The Salesforce sync page lists every change the sync sent to Salesforce or wants to send, and everything it took from Salesforce. Use it to approve or reject changes that are waiting, settle fields that changed on both sides, and push again or dismiss changes that failed.
Before you start
- The event must be linked to a campaign. See Link an event to a Salesforce campaign.
- Changes wait here when the event's Auto-sync: apply changes automatically is off, and when a Push & pull field changed on both sides and its rule is Ask me. With auto-sync on, changes go by themselves and are listed here as they're sent.
- Only client administrators see the page and its menu item.
Approve or reject waiting changes
- In the menu, select Attendees, then Salesforce sync. The number next to it is how many changes are waiting.
- Check the tiles: Waiting for approval, Failed in the last 7 days, Last sync and Auto-sync. Select a tile to list those changes.
- The list starts on Waiting for approval. Choose another status or a direction in the toolbar, or use Search changes.
- Select View on a change to see it in full, with each field's value before and after. Select Approve change or Reject change. Use the arrows to move to the next change.
- To deal with many at once, tick them and select Actions, then Approve or Reject. Confirm with Approve or Reject and the number of changes.
- To approve everything waiting, select Approve all waiting, then Approve all waiting again when asked.
Approved changes show Approved: next sync and are sent by the next sync, oldest first. Rejected changes aren't applied and stay in the list as Rejected.
Settle a field changed on both sides
A change marked Changed on both sides shows Waiting for a choice. Select View, then Keep Delekit value (the next sync sends it to Salesforce) or Keep Salesforce value (the next sync updates the attendee). For several, tick them and use the same choices in Actions. Approve doesn't settle these.
Deal with failed changes
- Set the status filter to Failed, or select the Failed in the last 7 days tile.
- Select View to see why it failed.
- For a failed attendee push, tick it and select Actions › Push again: the attendee is pushed with the current field mapping, and the failed change closes as Superseded.
- To close a failure without sending it, select Dismiss failure in View, or tick it and select Actions › Dismiss. The same values aren't sent again until they change.
A failed status push or two-way change is tried again by the next sync on its own.
What happens next
- Approved: next sync becomes Applied once the sync has sent it. Waiting for connection means the Salesforce connection isn't working: the change goes once it works again.
- Not sent: attendee deleted means the attendee was deleted before the change went.
- Export audit downloads every change the sync recorded as a CSV file, one row per field with its before and after values.
Check it works
After the next sync, set the status filter to Applied and find the change. The Last sync tile shows when the sync last ran, in your own time zone.
If something isn't right
- "Nothing to approve. Changes made on both sides are settled with Keep Delekit value or Keep Salesforce value." Use those instead of Approve.
- "Nothing to push again." Push again only applies to failed attendee pushes.
- The Last sync tile says Last sync failed: its message says why. Check the org's connection on the client's Salesforce page.
- There's no Salesforce sync in the menu: the event isn't linked to a campaign, or you aren't a client administrator.
