Audience: on-site check-in staff. Applies to: only events where Delekit has turned on BLE tracking (beta).
BLE badges are Bluetooth badges that let Delekit track where attendees go at the event. They exist only when Delekit staff turn on BLE tracking for your event: you can't turn it on yourself. With it on, link a badge to an attendee in the check-in app by scanning their QR ticket, then the QR code printed on the badge.
Before you start
- Ask Delekit support whether BLE tracking is on for your event. Without it, assigning a badge fails.
- Turn on Assign BLE badge on each device: in My Events, open the menu, select Settings and turn on the switch. See Check-in app settings.
- The device needs a connection: each badge is assigned in Delekit straight away.
- The attendee needs to be downloaded to the device. If a scan shows Not yet synced — please sync and rescan, select the refresh icon and scan again.
Assign the badge
- In the sessions list, select your registration session.
- On the toolbar, select QR Scan, and scan the attendee's QR code ticket.
- On the result, select Assign BLE badge. Scan BLE badge QR appears and the camera opens again.
- Scan the QR code printed on the badge.
- Wait for BLE badge assigned successfully. on the result.
- To assign the next badge, go back to the attendee list and select QR Scan again.
What happens next
- The attendee is checked into the session by the ticket scan, as usual.
- The badge belongs to this attendee from now on. If they already had a badge, it's released. If the badge belonged to someone else, it moves to this attendee.
- A BLE badge isn't a wristband: the attendee's Tag assigned stays as it was, on the web and in the app.
- Assign BLE badge goes away after a badge is assigned, so each badge needs a fresh QR Scan screen.
If something isn't right
- Assign BLE badge isn't shown: turn on Assign BLE badge in Settings, then go back and select QR Scan again. It shows only on a scan result.
- Scan an attendee first: scan the attendee's ticket before selecting Assign BLE badge.
- Invalid BLE badge QR, please try again.: the code scanned isn't a badge's code. Select Assign BLE badge and scan the code on the badge again.
- Failed to assign BLE badge. Server returned 404.: BLE tracking isn't on for this event. Contact Delekit support.
- Failed to assign BLE badge. followed by another message: check the device is online, then try again.
- Session expired, please log in again.: sign out and in again. See Sign out of the check-in app.
