Check people in with the check-in app

Modified on Mon, 2 Nov at 2:01 PM

Audience: event organisers and on-site check-in staff. Applies to: events using the Delekit check-in app (Android only).

The Delekit check-in app turns Android phones and tablets into scanners. Your team scans attendees' QR code tickets, or NFC wristbands, badges and cards, as they arrive at the event and at each session, and Delekit records who came, when, and who left. Follow these articles in order to get from a set-up event to a working check-in desk.

Before the event

  1. Set up an event for the check-in app: show the event in the app, choose what staff see about each attendee, and set up the sessions you'll scan.
  2. Give staff access to the check-in app: every person who scans needs a Delekit account with access to the event.
  3. Devices that can run the check-in app: what each phone or tablet needs, including NFC and a camera.
  4. Download the check-in app from Google Play on each device.
  5. Sign in to the check-in app and check the event shows in My Events.
  6. If you use wristbands, assign a wristband to an attendee, or tag many attendees in one go before the doors open.

On the day

  1. Check attendees in at registration as they arrive.
  2. Scan attendees into a session, with QR code tickets or wristbands, badges and cards.
  3. Use several devices at one session when the queue is long.
  4. Find an attendee and check them in by hand when they've forgotten their ticket, or add a walk-in attendee who isn't registered.
  5. Let in someone who isn't booked on a session, and scan people out of a session if you track who leaves.
  6. Read the figures: session counts in the check-in app.
  7. When you've finished, sign out of the check-in app once your scans have been sent.
